Acura RL RTW
Acura Link Real Time Weather uses the same XM satellites as Real Time Traffic and displays weather information on the map display as well as weather forecasts on screen. The system automatically updates approximately every 90 seconds. Current weather is shown on the RL map display in the form of icons. Like other icons, such as ATMs or gas stations, these icons can be displayed and removed as you please by pushing the interface dial, selecting show icon on map, and clicking on the weather icon box, second button from the left. By adjusting the zoom setting, you can see weather in your immediate area, and anywhere in the US. To see a location’s current weather conditions, just use the interface dial to select a nearby icon. Click on the icon and that location’s current weather conditions will be displayed. To access even more detailed information press the info button, then select weather information from the main menu, then select weather forecast. The system will show current conditions and a forecast for the next 3 and 6 hours. When entering a destination, the system can bring up an alert if the selected route will take you through areas of bad weather. To see a warning map of potentially hazardous weather conditions across large areas of the US, press weather info and then select warning map. The system will show a map of the US with areas of bad weather highlighted in different colors. A key to the left of the map identifies what each color represents, such as storms, floods, and even tornadoes or hurricanes, in addition to other hazardous weather conditions. The Acura Link Weather service is complementary for the first 90 days. To continue using this service, a separate monthly subscription to XM Nav Weather is required. Complete operating instructions for Acura Link Weather can be found in the navigation system manual.
